Participating In Banner Exchanges

Business owners who want to take advantage of Internet marketing strategies such as banner ads but are on a limited budget may find banner exchanges to be quite useful. The ideal use of banner ads would include placing your banner ad on a website which receives a great deal of traffic and attracts an audience who will likely be interested in your products or services. Additionally, this website should not directly compete for your business. This scenario may be difficult to find and even when a business owner is able to find this type of situation, purchasing advertisement space may be expensive especially if it is a highly competitive niche. These business owners may find banner exchanges to be an affordable alternative.

The most appealing factor of banner ad exchanges is the cost effectiveness of these situations. Most banner ad exchange groups are free to participants. Unlike placing a banner ad independently, there is no financial cost for the appearance of the banner ad on another website but the business owner does have an obligation to fulfill. Most banner ad exchanges will find another website to post your advertisement without charging a fee but they will require you to post at least one banner ad, and sometimes more, on your website in exchange for having your banner ad displayed on another website. Many banner ad exchanges will work to attempt to match your banner ad to a relevant website but this is not always possible and your banner ad may wind up on a website which is not relevant to your products or services. This will likely mean that the banner ads will generate very little interest in your products and services. Similarly the advertisements you are asked to post may not complement your website well. You will likely have the opportunity to reject advertisements in particular categories you find to be offensive but will have little control beyond that to moderate the banner ads on your website.

Another very affordable option for placing your banner ads on the Internet may include starting an affiliate marketing campaign. This is an Internet marketing campaign in which website owners, or affiliates, post your banner ad on their website and attempt to promote your products and services for you. The banner ads typically include graphics and text which entice Internet users to click through the ad to your website and also include embedded code which provides you with feedback detailing which affiliates generated the website traffic. This information is necessary because affiliates are typically not paid unless they achieve a desired result such as enticing Internet users to click through the banner ad or make a purchase. The affiliates are typically compensated either on a cost per click basis or a cost per sale basis. Cost per click means the affiliate receives a predetermined amount of money each time a user clicks on the ad. Cost per sale means the affiliate receives either a flat fee or a percentage of the sale for each sale generated by the affiliate. Affiliates may also be paid on a cost per lead basis which means they are compensated when a user performs a specific action such as registering with a website or filling out a survey. Most people favor affiliate programs because it is a cost effective way to place your banner ads online and because they only have to pay affiliates who are successful.

Tips to Get Repeat Web Traffic

1. Update the pages on your website frequently. Stagnant sites are dropped by some search engines. You can even put a date counter on the page to show when it was last updated.

2. Offer additional value on your website. For affiliates and partners you can place links to their sites and products and ask them to do the same for you. You can also advertise their books or videos, if these products relate to your industry and are not in competition with your own product.

3. You can allow customers to ‘opt in’ to get discounts and special offers. Place a link on your site to invite customers to ‘opt in’ to get a monthly newsletter or valuable coupons.

4. Add a link to your primary page with a script ‘Book Mark or Add this site to your Favorites’.

5. Add a link ‘Recommend this site to a Friend’ so that the visitor can email your website link, with a prewritten title, “Thought you might be interested in this”, just by clicking on it.

6. Brand your website so that visitors always know they are on your site. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans and always provide a ‘Contact Us’ link on each page.

7. Create a ‘Our Policies’ page that clearly defines your philosophy and principles in dealing with your customers. Also post your privacy policy as well so that clients know they are secure when they visit your site.

8. Create a FAQ page which addresses most of the doubts and clarifications about your product or your company that are likely to be asked. This helps to resolve most of the customers doubts in their first visit to your site.

8. Ensure that each page on your website has appropriate titles and keywords so that your customer can find their way back to your site if they lose the book mark.

9. Never spam a client, who has opted for newsletters, with unsolicited emails. Later if they decide they want to ‘opt out’ of the mailings, be sure you honor their request and take them off the mailing list. They may still come back if they like your products. But they will certainly not come back if you continue to flood their email box with mails they no longer wish to receive.

As the web is an ever changing landscape, you have to keep track of your own web results like what is happening with the competition and also the best and highest ranked sites. Tips to Increase Ranking and Website Traffic

It is worth cataloguing the basic principles to be enforced to increase website traffic and search engine rankings.

• Create a site with valuable content, products or services.
• Place primary and secondary keywords within the first 25 words in your page content and spread them evenly throughout the document.
• Research and use the right keywords/phrases to attract your target customers.
• Use your keywords in the right fields and references within your web page. Like Title, META tags, Headers, etc.
• Keep your site design simple so that your customers can navigate easily between web pages, find what they want and buy products and services.
• Submit your web pages i.e. every web page and not just the home page, to the most popular search engines and directory services. Hire someone to do so, if required. Be sure this is a manual submission. Do not engage an automated submission service.
• Keep track of changes in search engine algorithms and processes and accordingly modify your web pages so your search engine ranking remains high. Use online tools and utilities to keep track of how your website is doing.
• Monitor your competitors and the top ranked websites to see what they are doing right in the way of design, navigation, content, keywords, etc.
• Use reports and logs from your web hosting company to see where your traffic is coming from. Analyze your visitor location and their incoming sources whether search engines or links from other sites and the keywords they used to find you.
• Make your customer visit easy and give them plenty of ways to remember you in the form of newsletters, free reports, reduction coupons etc.
• Demonstrate your industry and product or service expertise by writing and submitting articles for your website or for article banks so you are perceived as an expert in your field.
• When selling products online, use simple payment and shipment methods to make your customer’s experience fast and easy.
• When not sure, hire professionals. Though it may seem costly, but it is a lot less expensive than spending your money on a website which no one visits.
• Don’t look at your website as a static brochure. Treat it as a dynamic, ever-changing sales tool and location, just like your real store to which your customers with the same seriousness.

Is banner advertising dead? Some would like to think so. Banner advertising is still a valuable resource to gain targeted traffic. Every time I check my email on my cell phone or via the web, I still see lots of banner. The big boys would`nt use them if they did not work. I personally use them in my advertising efforts because they are a cheap way to advertise in most cases.

The conversion and cost can depend on which sites you choose to place your banner ads on. For instance, one popular site sells banner ad space at $1.95 per 10,000 impressions over 16,000 websites. Your conversion rate can very depending on well designed your banner is. Say you offer a product or service for $20 and you sell 1 out of 1,000 banner impressions, you make a cool profit at a very low cost.

Classified Ad Traffic & How to Get Your Share

Posting your ads on high traffic classified ad sites is a great way to get targeted traffic to your website. Lots of webmasters use this service so your our ads need to be eye catching and appealing. There are free and paid classifieds but I would not pay unless I saw sales from a free ad first. I have used paid classifieds before and found it to be a waste of money.

First we will talk about ebay classifieds. You can set up a classified ad on ebay for a small price but more importantly, they allow you to set up a profile page and that is where all the action takes place. Again, your ad must be appealing and something that the buyer wants. I suggest you sell a very cheap item or service. If a potential customer is interested, he or she will click on you bio or profile page.

Your profile page should be set up something like this. Hey, thanks for visiting my profile page. If you like the product I`m selling, follow the link below and get it for free. Make sure the link goes to an optin page where they can enter their email address for the free download where you can sell them something at a later date.

Craigslist is another place to advertise for free. I have made some sales although my ads only run for seven days. There are software that can make it easy for you to post to thousands of classified sites with one click of your mouse. Sorry, don`t have any recommendations, since I tend to only use a few. However, I do recommend using a service that will post your ad to 300,000 subscribers for fifteen bucks. You can check them out at: Free Solo Ads

The key to getting traffic with these sites is to post your ads every week, week in and week out. Your consistency will pay off. Don’t post an ad one week and expect to get 1,000 hits to your site. But, posting your ads weekly or every 4-5 days will certainly help you out. It only takes a few minutes out of your schedule and will be well worth the effort.

Writing Articles to get Targeted Traffic

Article writing is a good way to get targeted traffic to your website. When writing articles, be sure to stay on topic and use unique content. Keep your article to around 350 to 400 words. Also, make sure that your article topic is relevant to your website. If your readers enjoy what you wrote, they will likely click on your link at the bottom of your article to see what else you offer.

Always include your link in the resource box at the end of each article. The resource box is about you. As an added bonus, once your article has been accepted, it can be translated into 16 different languages which can increase your traffic. Further more, some article submission sites will distribute your articles to over 30,000 websites. So, in essence you could easily increase your back links with just one good article.

Better to write your own content although there are some sites that will give you articles for free on just about any subject. The only problem with this method is they are free and have been used thousands of time and not a good source of fresh content. I`m not saying don`t download these articles, by all means, download them and use them to give you some fresh ideas.

You may already know that your articles can help you generate additional links back to your site. But did you know that you can get more visitors and better search engine results from those same articles? Mention keywords at strategic places. Just don`t overdo them. Some are even using anchor texts which is also an effective method. It is important to know that the majority of the directories are not able to support this.

Part of doing well in your article marketing is getting picked up by publishers with a large audience and gaining the ability of leveraging your brand because of the quality of your work. Publishing content that does not help your readers. Though getting good search engine ranking and many back links, should not be your sole purpose when writing articles. It is a must that your article writing is helping others.
